Checking out a new church can be nerve racking and overwhelming. We want to take all the fear out by being transparent with any questions you may have. Know, however, that the best way to learn if the Cowboy Baptist Church is for you, is to experience it. We want the privilege of showing you how we are unique in loving people and solid on God's holy word! Our goal is to provide you with a warm welcome where it feels like we're old friends. Check out the following information to help you plan your visit and get a good picture of what your time with us will be like. We're excited to meet you!

Why are you called Cowboy Baptist?

Through the Lord's guidance, our church went through a reset in 2019. We were looking for a name change and fresh start as we gained a new pastor and moved to a new location. No, we're largely not cowboy hat wearing, spur spinning, horse riding people (though a few of us are).  Our pastor, Calep Lewis, and a few others were sitting around a table asking each other what the new name should be. One of them said, "I don't know, were just a bunch of cowboy folk", and the Cowboy church name was officially adopted.

What do I wear to church?

Whatever you're comfortable wearing to church. The only dress code we have is that you wear clothes. Whether its jeans & a t-shirt or a suit & tie, it's up to you, but please know we are happy you are choosing to join us.

What kind of music do you play?

Our Sunday morning worship consist of a blend of southern gospel, bluegrass, hymns, and modern with a country flare. Our Wednesday evening service is predominantly hymns selected by members of the congregation. Our talented musicians play guitars, bass, fiddle, keyboard, drums, banjo, harp, mandolin, steel guitar, tambourine, etc.

How long are the services?

Our Sunday morning worship last 60-90 minutes.

Who can attend the meal times? How do I sign up?

Whoever wants to eat can join us. There's no need to sign up. Just show up! It is suggested to get in line early to be sure you have enough time to eat.

Do I have to give money?

We will never ask any individual for money. It is up to each person to determine if and what to give. We do encourage our member and regular attenders to tithe a portion of their earnings as instructed by scripture to enable the church to operate and minister.

What will Sunday morning look like for my child?

Matthew 19:14 teaches us just how high of an importance Jesus, our Lord and Savior, places on children. The Cowboy Baptist Church hired a full-time children and education pastor in 2024. Many changes have been made and will continue to be made to give children a high-quality spiritual education as well as a safe one. Our children's program is located on the second floor of the building. All of our volunteers, both Sunday and Wednesday, are background checked and required to go through a sexual abuse awareness training. Our children and youth's area is completely isolated, meaning we are monitoring that only those who are allowed in that area are in that area.

when you bring your children in, you will check them in at the children's desk located to the right as soon as you walk in the front doors. They will have a name badge print out to go on their backs, and a security badge will be given to you, their guardian. this is to ensure that when you pick them up, we can match their name badge with your security badge and give them only to an authorized guardian. For more information on their spiritual education, click here to view our Children's page.
