Where We've Come From

The Cowboy Baptist Church was started in 2013 under the name "Bayview Baptist Church. We met in our current Pastors, Calep Lewis, living room with about 15 "members". It was led by Pastor Vince Grayson. Eventually, our number outgrew the Lewis' home, so, we moved into a strip mall in Grand Bay, Al. Calep Lewis, who was or worship leader at the time, was called to serve in his first pastoral role and his family moved to Shreveport, La. Upon his return, he was made our pastor and the church moved to a location on Boe Road in Grand Bay.

In 2019, we were given an opportunity to move again to another location in Grand Bay which is when the name was changed to "The Cowboy Baptist Church". As the fellowship continued to grow to 200+, we prayed for the Lord to show us the next step. 

Through much prayer, we were blessed to move to our present location on Argyle Road in Irvington, AL in February 2022.

Now, as of Easter 2023 we had 600 guests and our sanctuary overflowed into the corridor, kitchen, dining room and lobby. What a blessing it was, but now we have outgrown our building and are looking to build a new sanctuary on our property.
